Robin Dale was born in Stockton-on-Tees in 1940. His outstanding colour photographs have captured the physical and social landscape of Teesside from the 1960s to the present day.
Many of his photographs show men, women and children going about their daily lives in 1970s and 1980s Teesside. Robin’s aim has always been to capture events and moments as they occur, without encouraging his subjects to pose.
Robin brings the same honesty to his landscape photography. His rural and industrial landscapes often reflect the harshness of the environment as well as its beauty, from abandoned buildings to scarecrows standing alone in desolate fields.
