Northern Art

Painting vs Reality

As we know, Northern Art is often focused on the unique, working class location of the area. Famous landmarks that are iconic in the Northern history are often the focal point of the area's artists, including Stephen Ormerod. Ormerod has worked in and around Burnley throughout his entire career, starting with coloured pencils, he defined his style that is so recognisable now. Ormerod now teaches others to develop their artistic abilities in dedicated classes. We have one of his famous creations, 'Leeds/Liverpool Canal' alongside the location so you can delve into the world that inspired the work. Seeing the once bustling canal in real life certainly has a unique charm to it...

Stephen Ormerod: Leeds/Liverpool Canal

Stephen Ormerod is an established artist with 28 years of experience. Based in the Burnley area of Lancashire.
