Saltburn 150 Exhibition - From Friday 1st July 2011...

The beautiful Victorian seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea celebrates its 150^th birthday this year, and ArtsBank  will be holding a special exhibition featuring paintings, photographs, mixed media work and memorabilia from the town’s past and present.

Looking around the town, it’s clear why Saltburn has inspired so many artists. Its spectacular coastline and woods contrast with the elegant Victorian buildings and gardens. Saltburn’s history as a Victorian seaside resort can be seen in its unique cliff lift and pier.

ArtsBank specialises in exhibiting local artists, many of whom live and work in Saltburn or the immediate vicinity. The Saltburn 150 exhibition will showcase the work of these artists, and show this lovely town from many different perspectives, capturing its landscape, architecture and life. Some of the artwork is modern in style, while other work, like Charles Twist’s photography, has a distinctly vintage feel.
