The Daydream Club
Acclaimed acoustic duo The Daydream Club (Adam Pickering and Paula Walker) started performing together in February 2010. Their debut album Overgrown was released worldwide via their own label, Poco Poco Records, in November 2010. It includes crowd favourites The Record Shop, On The Move, The Affair and English Rain, Paula Walker’s melodious vocals adding rich layers to Adam Pickering’s musical soundscapes. This led to airplay on regional BBC radio stations plus BBC 6 Music.
Praise for The Daydream Club and Overgrown:
Really astonishing musicianship... Tom Robinson, BBC 6
Overgrown is different somehow. It’s understated and modest. It could almost be mistaken for a film score with its long instrumentals, all done by the bands two members... The Daydream Club take their own passion and create something so evocative that it has its own soul and that’s what I love about them. Hive Magazine
Effortlessly beautiful... this band is going places and it wants to take you with them. Zouch Magazine
The Dance for the King Duo (Featuring Paul Donnelly)
Dance for the King has been described as a travelogue of a concert and though largely Latin influenced, they take their audiences to musical territories from country and blues to flamenco and jazz. From the start, guitarist and composer Paul Donnelly establishes a warm rapport with his audience, sharing the often unusual inspirations for his music.
From the beauty of the understated to the passion of flamenco, and from introspective laments to infectious rhythms right out of the Hot Club, the music offers excitement and intimacy in equal measure.
A perfect evocation of hot days and sultry nights by the Mediterranean by this master of the nylon string guitar. Keith Ames, Musician Magazine
The concert offered a feel-good factor that was very welcome in these downbeat times. Pru Farrier, Darlington and Stockton Times
