Hester Cox
Hester has a BA(Hons) in Illustration and lives in Masham, North Yorkshire. Working as a printmaker, she designs and makes relief, collagraph and photopolymer (solar) plates which are then printed in layers to form one richly coloured and textured print.
Her inspiration is often derived from the natural landscape, the plants and wildlife that inhabit it and the stories, myths and symbolism associated with them. Hester uses multiple plates and techniques to echo the layers of meaning and metaphor in the images. Often with a strong sense of narrative, her images act as a frontispiece from which the viewer can create their own stories.
