David Newbould
Born in Castleford in 1938, David is a self taught artist, interested in a wide range of subject matter: landscapes, seascapes, portraits and figures. He works in oils, acrylics and watercolours, but his main love is pastel painting.
In 1988, David was invited to be Artist in Residence at the Newcastle Jazz Festival, followed by the Grimsby South Bank Jazz Festival, and a third residency when he was involved with the Gateshead Jazz Festival. Since then David has returned to all of these venues, and added Birmingham and Cork Jazz Festivals.
David is involved with demonstrations at numerous art societies and is an active member of several local art clubs.
