A unique opportunity to purchase early original paintings and highly collectable signed limited edition prints by Alexander Millar, one of the UK’s top contemporary artists.
Born just outside Kilmarnock in 1960, Alexander Millar’s work is inspired by the ordinary working men and women of his childhood. These memories together with the local Geordie characters from his adopted Newcastle form a prominent recurring theme in his artwork.
Our collection consists of six superb early original works of art featuring his distinctive “gadgie” character and includes the stunning “Norries Bar’ from the “New Light Through Old Windows” series.
The signed limited edition prints include a full set of seventeen images making up the Spring 2004 collection “Gadgies and Gals”, all of which are Edition No.47 and have been individually hand embellished by Alexander with a small original pencil sketch on the print border.
The six prints from “New Light Through Old Windows”, originally released in Autumn 2006, are offered as a full set including a signed catalogue of the collection. These have once again been individually hand embellished by the artist with a small original pencil sketch on the print border, and each is Edition No.142.
In addition, featured for sale are various other much sought after Alexander Millar limited edition prints from 2003-2005, most of which are sold out at the publishers, Washington Green, and rarely appear on the open market.
